Fresh Air In The New Year
Last year, a customer moved into a new home, and, while I was performing regular maintenance, the homeowner reported a very wet smell in the home.
Here at AvaAir, we have the ability to test for large and small dust traces, carbon monoxide, and VOCs (also known as volatile organic compounds). This tester allows us to check up on the health of the home in a short half-hour process.
The homeowner was particularly concerned because she had an infant in the home, and she wanted to provide the best air quality possible for her little one. After we tested the home, we discovered a high moisture content — and were able to provide a solution. She installed a dehumidifier and allowed some time for it to work its magic.
At the next maintenance visit, we tested the air again and the tester returned green across the board.
I tell you this because the quality of the air within your home is important. Having clean interior air can prevent many environmental health hazards. The quality of the air in your home is largely connected to your overall health and wellbeing. We tend to spend much time in our homes and having air that is breathable and free of any threatening pollutants lowers your risk of respiratory illnesses, allergies, or chronic conditions.
We pride ourselves on fairness and performing our service based on the needs of our customers. We are not commission-based and will not sell you something you don’t need. We aren’t here to meet numbers, we are here to promote good health and comfort within your home. We don’t blindly make suggestions in an effort to sell a product that will not benefit or serve you. These testers allow us to pinpoint a specific problem so we can best target a solution.
If you have maintenance scheduled with us in the upcoming new year, let us know before your appointment if you would like to have your home tested — not every truck has a tester and we will need to allow time to sample the air. Upon testing, real and specific results are delivered to determine the quality of your air. (If there is an issue, we will then target the given factors and find the best solution possible.)
Even if you are in a newly constructed home, don’t have any problems with your system, or don’t detect any funny smells, there are still things you can't see and feel but that the tester can detect — these things may be negatively affecting your home and your health. Call us today to take the first step to ensure that the air you breathe at home is clean and safe.
On behalf of myself and the rest of the team at AvaAir, we wish you and your family a very safe and promising new year! We look forward to seeing you at your next service appointment.
AvaAir. We'll Be There.
